About The Position

WIL is seeking a Program Director for national service to direct a program placing members in schools and communities to deliver education, workforce, and community services. This is a contingent proposal opportunity in WIL's expert collaborator network, not a funded vacancy. It supports a competitive grant application WIL is preparing; no award has been made, and there is no guaranteed work or funding. If an award proceeds and the staffing model calls for it, WIL may offer a project-based contract or consulting engagement. WIL will ask for authorization before naming the candidate or including their resume in a proposal. The role is a remote US collaboration.

Requirements

  • Experience directing or managing a member-based national service or service-year program.
  • Experience recruiting, training, and supervising members or volunteers across multiple sites.
  • Knowledge of federal grant compliance and performance reporting.
  • Partnership-building experience with community organizations and service sites.
  • Comfort with a project-based contract collaboration.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior national service program director or grantee experience.
  • Former national service member.
  • Workforce or education program background.

Responsibilities

  • Direct program design for member recruitment, training, placement, and supervision.
  • Develop service-site partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and public agencies.
  • Build member development and pathways from service to employment.
  • Oversee member eligibility, timekeeping, compliance, and grant reporting.
  • Define performance measures and evaluation plans.
  • Contribute qualifications and past-performance narrative to WIL proposals when authorized to be named.
