About The Position

The Program Director is responsible for managing the services delivered to a designated program or set of programs, and the operation of programs. This is a full-time, exempt, salaried supervisor role. Key responsibilities include overseeing the organization and implementation of direct supports, person-centered planning and implementation, healthcare, advocacy, stakeholder relations, regulatory compliance, staffing, training, financial management, and maintenance of the physical environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two to three years of related experience in the Human Services Industry preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
  • Other education and experience as required by applicable regulations.
  • Current driver's license, car registration and auto insurance if driving on behalf of the Company or providing transportation to individuals receiving services.
  • Licensure(s) as required by state.
  • Medication Management Certificate issued with the completion of Company provided training.
  • Mandatory Reporter Certificate issued with the completion of Company provided training.
  • Other training(s) and/or certification(s) per state requirements and/or service line.
  • For specific programs: AZ Behavioral Health programs must meet BHT requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee organization and implementation of direct supports, person-centered planning and implementation, health care, advocacy, stakeholder relations, regulatory compliance, staffing, training, financial management, and maintenance of the physical environment.
  • Recruit and hire staff, potentially participating in hiring events and partnering with Talent Acquisition.
  • Organize and implement on-site orientation and training for assigned programs, monitor training compliance and documentation, conduct monthly staff meetings, and attend regional and other necessary meetings.
  • Design and monitor employee schedules to ensure all shifts are covered and minimize overtime.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports, review and approve staff performance evaluations.
  • Coach employees, correct employee behavior, and recommend or participate in decisions regarding discipline and termination.
  • Manage employee safety and workers’ compensation programs, monitor compliance, and assist in returning employees to work.
  • Act as QIDP (if required), write and approve individual program plans, and train staff on implementation.
  • Periodically audit individual records and other program documentation for accuracy and completion.
  • Conduct program team meetings and progress reviews.
  • Oversee licensing compliance for program services and supports, ensure timely and accurate program documentation, and manage individual rights implementation.
  • Implement systems for managing individuals’ funds and property, ensuring safety and accuracy, and auditing financial accounts.
  • Maintain productive relations with individuals, families, case managers, and other stakeholders, providing regular communication and acting as a point of contact.
  • Engage in government and community relations, participate in advocacy efforts, and ensure preparedness for home visits.
  • Implement strategies to reduce or eliminate serious incidents, correct safety concerns, review incidents, and ensure timely reporting.
  • Oversee coordination of health care appointments and monitor individual attendance.
  • Oversee systems for medication administration, documentation, and security, and review documentation for accuracy.
  • Approve purchases of medical supplies and equipment and ensure proper training.
  • Monitor food service in accordance with dietary plans and regulatory compliance.
  • Approve purchases of food, supplies, and equipment, review monthly invoices, and attest to company credit card statements.
  • Oversee census, attendance information, or other documentation for accurate billing and monitor utilization.
  • Monitor staffing hours for budgetary compliance.
  • Develop understanding of program growth strategy and support implementation of growth initiatives.
  • Monitor census performance and escalate potential service disruptions.
  • Review referrals to validate fit for specific locations and escalate potential barriers.
  • Coordinate preparations for expected placements.
  • Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, clean, and safe.
  • Monitor and implement strategies to assure neat, clean, and safe program environments.
  • Oversee environmental safety program, establish preventive maintenance schedules, and maintain furnishings, equipment, and facilities.
  • Perform other duties and activities as required, including backfilling roles under supervision.
  • Be available on-call to support staff, find coverage, or cover shifts as needed.
