About The Position

This role is responsible for leading a team of project and program managers to plan, coordinate, and execute cross-functional programs that support strategic goals across product development, clinical operations, IT, regulatory/compliance, and more. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in managing complex cross-functional initiatives utilizing standard program management tools and discipline, deep experience in regulated laboratory environments, strong leadership, and a proven ability to deliver results in fast-paced, matrixed organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Life Sciences, Health Administration, Business, Engineering).
  • 10+ years in new product development, program and/or portfolio management within biotech, life sciences, or diagnostics space.
  • 8+ years in Program Management or Portfolio Management.
  • 3+ years in a people leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale, cross-functional programs involving complex systems integration and business process transformation.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, clinical testing processes, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Competent in project and portfolio management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, PKIT) with exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Solid executive communication skills.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in regulated laboratory environments, including diagnostics, genomics, or molecular testing.
  • PMP, PgMP, SAFe Agilist, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience supporting product development or commercialization of clinical laboratory tests.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic initiatives across multiple workstreams (e.g., revenue cycle management, product development, laboratory improvements, digital platforms).
  • Mature PMO organization capabilities and institute best practices, tools, and discipline.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders in Product, Clinical, Lab Operations, Informatics, Software Engineering, Regulatory, and Quality to define objectives, priorities, and success metrics.
  • Drive program governance through development of KPIs, timelines, milestones, budgets, and reporting structures; monitor progress and adjust as needed.
  • Facilitate steering committee and stakeholder meetings, providing clear status updates, risk assessments, and decision requests.
  • Report program progress to executive leadership, including the CEO, through structured updates, dashboards, and strategic reviews.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks; escalate issues to maintain project timelines and objectives.
  • Manage dependencies and resource allocation across teams to ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, Part 11) throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and incorporate lessons learned into future initiatives.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to project teams within the initiative portfolio.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support team and organizational objectives.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
