About The Position
Lakewood Ranch Medical Center is developing a new Emergency Medicine Residency Program, set to begin in July 2027. They are seeking an experienced Program Director to lead the ACGME application process and establish a top-tier training environment. This role offers the chance to design and build a high-quality academic program within a growing community, based at a 190-bed community hospital known for its quality metrics, patient safety, and satisfaction. The position will initially be a consulting role during accreditation, then transition to a .5 FTE Program Director role with the remaining time dedicated to clinical Emergency Medicine practice.
Requirements
- Board certification in ABEM or AOBEM
- Minimum 3 years of recent educational and/or administrative experience in an ACGME-accredited residency
- Demonstrated excellence in leadership, curriculum development, and scholarly activity.
- Strong interpersonal communication, organizational, and administrative skills
Nice To Haves
- Prior Program Director or Associate Program Director experience strongly preferred.
- A passion for resident education
- A strong background in graduate medical education
- At least three years of leadership experience within an ACGME-accredited program
Responsibilities
- Lead the ACGME application and accreditation process.
- Design the program structure, curriculum, and educational strategy.
- Provide .5 FTE administrative leadership.
- Engage in clinical Emergency Medicine practice.
