Program Director

YAIBrooklyn, NY

About The Position

The Program Director will supervise a variety of managers, including Supervisor 1, Supervisor 2, and Assistant Director. This role involves guiding, supporting, and developing clinicians who provide services to people across the entire region. The Program Director actively participates in program meetings, regional meetings, leadership meetings, agency committees, and/or projects. A key responsibility is retaining diverse, highly qualified leaders and providing career coaching, growth, and personal development for direct and indirect report employees. In the absence of a direct report, the Program Director will perform the role of Supervisor, which includes program oversight, staff training, adherence to state and city regulations, managing program budgets, and liaising with families. The role also involves evaluating program staffing needs based on the complexity and needs of the people supported, participating in the interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluation of the program leadership team, and developing and managing program budgets. Additionally, the Program Director will participate in community relations and fundraising activities, oversee and coordinate daily operations with support departments, act as a liaison with DDRO, assist with individual screenings, and aid in the investigative process. The role includes developing new programs/initiatives as needed, evaluating and monitoring program needs to ensure supports and services meet changing needs, and assisting supervisors in resolving program, staff, and family concerns. Providing program/floor coverage when necessary and making decisions according to agency policy to ensure appropriate treatments and service delivery are essential. The Program Director will provide ongoing consultation and problem-solving support to the Interdisciplinary Team for clinical, behavioral, and/or health-related challenges. Oversight of all financial systems related to individuals supported and program expenditures, ensuring the leadership team operates within budgetary guidelines, and ensuring the facility is properly maintained by the Supervisor and team are also key duties. Maintaining compliance with external regulations and internal policies and procedures, overseeing a wide range of programs based on complexity and needs (typically a larger caseload than an Assistant Director), and facilitating audits are also part of the role. Responsibilities may evolve to meet departmental needs.
