About The Position

Magic Seasons Preschool and School Age Program is seeking a dedicated and experienced Temporary Program Director to lead our child care center in Adams, MA during a transitional period. This full-time position is expected to last 3–6 months and offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our program, children, families, and staff. For the right candidate, there may be an opportunity to join our team permanently in a different leadership, teaching, or administrative role at the conclusion of the temporary assignment, based on organizational needs and mutual interest.

Requirements

Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) Director I Certification required.
Meet all Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) Director I qualifications.
Have excellent problem-solving, coaching, and critical thinking skills.
Demonstrate knowledge of child-centered, literacy-based curriculum development and quality assurance practices.
Possess strong management skills, including planning, organizing, motivating, and decision-making.
Effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities within a licensed child care setting.
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Build rapport with individuals from diverse cultural, ethnic, economic, and family backgrounds.
Adapt to changing program needs and priorities.
Maintain professionalism and positive working relationships with staff, families, vendors, and community members.
Be in good health, free of communicable disease, and meet all required health and immunization standards.

Nice To Haves

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience managing a child care center or preschool program.
Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of early childhood education best practices and child development.
Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community partners.
Commitment to creating an inclusive, respectful, and engaging learning environment.
At least two years of supervisory experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations of the child care center, ensuring compliance with Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) regulations and licensing requirements.
Support and guide teaching staff while maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment.
Ensure the implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities that promote children's learning and growth.
Foster positive relationships with families through open communication and responsive support.
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff.
Assist with staffing, scheduling, coaching, and performance management.
Monitor program resources, supplies, and operational needs.
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and quality assurance standards.
Help maintain continuity and stability while supporting the organization's long-term goals.
Provide classroom coverage when needed.
