Program Director, Radiologic Technology

Stepful
$100,000 - $125,000Hybrid

About The Position

Stepful is launching a Radiologic Technology A.A.S. program leading to ARRT (R) certification eligibility. We're partnering directly with employers to help them build their own RadTech programs, powered by Stepful. They sponsor the education of new talent, and Stepful provides the accreditation, curriculum, instruction, and operations. Labs and clinicals happen inside employer facilities, allowing students to train where they'll work and employers to build talent pipelines where they need them. This model is scaling across the country, starting in Texas. The Program Director will shape program design and be accountable for credentialing, completion, and job placement outcomes. Success will be measured by program completion and graduation rate, ARRT credentialing exam pass rate, and job placement rate. This role is remote and Texas-based, with regular travel to partner sites, and reports into the Imaging Programs Lead. This is a build role, not a maintenance role.

Requirements

  • Texas-based, with reliable access to a major airport and availability to travel.
  • Current ARRT R.T.(R) certification.
  • Current Texas GMRT certificate from the Texas Board of Medical Radiologic Technology.
  • Prior Program Director experience of an accredited radiography program.
  • 5+ years of clinical experience in radiography.
  • Familiarity with program accreditation and regulatory compliance, including JRCERT and ABHES accreditation requirements and process.
  • Strong data and technical literacy, prioritizing leading indicators over retrospective, end-of-year metrics.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience partnering with employer or health-system stakeholders on workforce pipelines.
  • Hold an advanced degree (e.g., MEd, MHA) or certifications beyond ARRT R.T.(R).
  • Worked in a fast-growing startup or EdTech environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of curriculum, ensuring didactic content meets accreditor standards.
  • Lead the development of clinical playbooks that govern supervision, competency progression, and rotation quality.
  • Own program outcomes: carry accountability for metrics such as program completion and graduation rate, ARRT credentialing exam pass rate, and job placement rate; track leading indicators and identify interventions for improvement.
  • Lead accreditation and monitor compliance: serve as the primary academic point of contact for ABHES compliance across the program, including annual reporting, substantive change filings, and site visit readiness.
  • Support conversations with employer partners as a clinical SME, speaking to the program's clinical design and answering questions.
  • Build and lead faculty: hire, onboard, observe, and develop didactic faculty, lab instructors, and clinical preceptors.
  • Travel to partner sites for site feasibility assessments, lab observations, preceptor development, and accreditation visits.
