About The Position

Eliot’s Homeless Services is seeking a Program Director to support homeless individuals in securing and maintaining housing. Eliot is committed to a Housing First Model that prioritizes permanent housing as the initial step in assisting individuals experiencing homelessness. The ideal candidate is a skilled leader with strong experience in mental health, substance use, and homeless services, capable of overseeing daily operations while providing real-time guidance and supervision to a multidisciplinary team. They bring a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented approach, excel at building collaborative relationships with clients and staff, and are adept at coordinating care, managing program logistics, and supporting residents in achieving housing stability.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience with large-scale project management and/or senior level human service leadership is required.
  • Expertise around effectively engaging and supporting families from diverse backgrounds with a history of homelessness, severe medical/behavioral health complexity is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate and delegate with a diverse group of leadership, case management and clinical staff, and medical providers internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership that incorporates trauma informed care, harm reduction principles, and a housing first philosophy is required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work and to permanent supportive housing programs across the state.

Responsibilities

  • Support Managers with oversight of general operations, community rule compliance, and support services within the permanent supportive housing programs.
  • Support staff with sustaining effective data collection and work flow systems and reports that mirror contractual requirements and performance specifications.
  • Closely monitor vendor subcontracts including security and staffing agency personnel.
  • Work closely with internal staff & leadership, community stakeholders and tenants around coordinating and maximizing opportunities for enrichment including educational, recreational, vocational opportunities, creative outlets and other opportunities to enhance quality of life.
  • Provide real time guidance and support to leadership and program/field staff to address acute/high risk client needs.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships within Eliot Programs and outside agencies.
  • Make appropriate referrals based on identified needs and treatment preferences accordingly. Participate in relevant care team meetings (internal and external) to ensure appropriate clinical and/or systemic involvement/interventions as it relates to care.
  • Supports leadership through serious incident management, reporting and debriefing.
  • Ensure that entitlements and/or services are maximized in a collaborative fashion with tenants.
  • Occasional calls/after hours or on-call about emergencies etc.
