Requirements

  • Meet qualifications of a Designated Manager, including:
  • A bachelor's (BA) degree in a field related to human services and 1 year of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 or older
  • OR an associate (AA) degree in a field related to human services and 2 years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 or older
  • OR a diploma in a field related to human services from an accredited post-secondary institution and 3 years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or person age 65 or older
  • OR a minimum of 50 hours of education and training related to human services and disabilities and 4 years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 or older under the supervision of a staff person who meets the qualifications identified in 1 to 3 above
  • AND 3 years of proven supervisory experience working with individuals with disabilities, related conditions, or persons age 65 or older.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee referral screening, admission coordination, service initiation, transfers, and terminations. Ensure individuals meet admission requirements and communicate decisions to case managers and legal representatives.
  • Review and edit reports from Program Managers/QIDPs for person-centered language, regulatory compliance, and timely submission; delegate as needed.
  • Review all incident and maltreatment reports, participate in investigations, and ensure follow-up actions are implemented to support individual safety and well-being.
  • Plan and facilitate Program Manager meetings, including preparing agendas, minutes, and follow-up on issues or ideas raised.
  • Supervise and support Program Managers and assigned staff, including recruitment, orientation, training, scheduling, supervision, and performance evaluations. Ensure staff competency and regulatory training requirements are met.
  • Oversee licensing compliance for assigned divisions, coordinate paperwork, facilitate reviews, and ensure corrective actions are completed as required.
  • Conduct initial and annual on-site audits, review financial and programmatic outcomes, and ensure corrective actions are implemented following audits.
  • Coordinate, develop, and update Program Abuse Prevention Plans and division-specific policies; train staff on policies and oversee implementation.
  • Monitor and maintain financial systems for assigned divisions, including budgeting, household accounts, expenditure tracking, and coordination with finance staff.
  • Ensure staff coverage and direct care needs are met, including scheduling floaters, on-call coverage, and responding to emergencies.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and agency policies, including Affirmative Action and Thomas Allen procedures.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for emergencies, provide guidance and consultation as needed.
