About The Position

This is a key leadership role within the agency, providing oversight to several departments that supplement direct casework duties. The Program Director will be a vital member of the Management Team, helping to shape the vision, direction, and effectiveness of multiple departments, ensuring services are responsive, compliant, and aligned with the agency's mission, values, and long-term goals. The role requires a strategic, forward-thinking leader with a passion for strengthening programs, supporting staff, and improving outcomes for children, families, and the community.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree that contain at least 12 credits in social work, sociology, psychology, criminal justice, education, gerontology, human services, or related subject matter.
  • Three years experience in the field of public or private social work, including two years working in a supervisory or administrative capacity in a social service agency.
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History (Act 33) clearance required prior to hire.
  • Pennsylvania State Police Request for Criminal Records Check (Act 34) clearance required prior to hire.
  • FBI Criminal Background Check (Act 73) clearance required prior to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative oversight and strong, consistent supervision for departmental personnel, including performance evaluations.
  • Serve as an active, solutions-focused member of the agency’s Management Team, contributing to a collaborative, forward-thinking organizational culture.
  • Build a unified vision across supervised departments, fostering teamwork, clarity, and shared purpose.
  • Represent the agency through public speaking engagements to internal and external audiences, promoting awareness, education, and positive relationships.
  • Develop and deliver information and training materials using available technology to enhance staff development and community understanding.
  • Lead program planning, development, implementation, and monitoring to ensure compliance with all regulations, mandates, and policies of assigned departments.
  • Maintain fiscal oversight of assigned departments and contribute to the development and monitoring of agency budgets, including Needs-Based and County budgets.
  • Act as a liaison with community partners, representing the agency on assigned projects and workgroups.
  • Champion interagency collaboration by developing initiatives that strengthen partnerships and service coordination.
