About The Position

Thresholds is seeking a highly skilled, energetic, and flexible Program Director for its Crisis Response Program. This new program, located in McHenry County, will supervise a 24/7 Crisis Response Team providing interventions to individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis in a Living Room crisis center. The Program Director will be instrumental in establishing necessary collaborations and protocols for the program's success.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or a closely related field required.
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience working with persons diagnosed with mental illness preferred.
  • Ability to synthesize and summarize information and make sound judgments regarding member care.
  • Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in order to provide information to members and healthcare personnel.
  • Knowledge of the mental health care system and ability to adapt to change.
  • Current and valid driver’s license required.

  • CRSS is strongly preferred.
  • CADC is a plus.
  • LSW, LPC, LCSW, or LCPC is encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the delivery of all program and casework services, attempts to accomplish all agency objectives and promulgates agency traditions, practices, and organizational goals.
  • Provides leadership and modeling of evidence-based practices and recovery that ensures program implementation according to the fidelity scales.
  • Ensures that the team functions optimally, in conjunction with other parts of the program while meeting the community support and rehabilitation needs of our members.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies.
  • Functions as a leader of the organization, representing the agency on special projects or in the community.
  • Monitors all required paperwork and maintains the quality and validity of individual case records according to regulatory bodies.
  • In conjunction with the Vice President, Clinical Operations prepares salary and line-item budget recommendations for the program. Oversees expenditures for the program in accordance with the agency's accounting practices.
  • Assists with special tasks such as writing proposals, publications, annual reports, representing the agency at meetings, conferences, conducting research, consulting with and training outside visitors and trainees, supervising students, orienting and training new staff.
  • Oversee hiring process for the program.
  • Must work flexible schedule. On-call duties for a 24/7 program.
