About The Position

BLN24 has an exciting opportunity for a Program Coordinator to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). This position serves as a trusted resource for multidisciplinary research, coordination, and stakeholder engagement activities that advance NOAA's weather, climate, water, and environmental research mission. Working closely with program managers, scientists, researchers, and stakeholders, this individual will support NOAA scientific programs and portfolios through planning, workshop facilitation, reporting, communications, risk tracking, and operational support. This role plays an important part in fostering collaboration, facilitating scientific innovation, and supporting the successful delivery of NOAA research initiatives and mission priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, Environmental Science, Public Policy, Business Administration, or related discipline; Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum six (6) years of experience supporting scientific research programs, research coordination, stakeholder engagement activities, program management, Federal initiatives, or mission-support operations.
  • Experience preparing technical reports, briefing materials, presentations, and program performance documentation.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required NOAA facility, security, and IT access

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of scientific research, stakeholder engagement, and mission-support initiatives across NOAA programs and portfolios.
  • Serve as a liaison between NOAA leadership, researchers, Cooperative Institutes, academic partners, Federal agencies, and contractor personnel to facilitate collaboration.
  • Coordinate scientific workshops, conferences, technical exchanges, stakeholder engagements, training events, community outreach activities, and special initiatives.
  • Support research-to-operations (R2O), transition-to-operations (T2O), operations to research (O2R), and innovation initiatives that advance NOAA's weather, climate, water, and environmental missions.
  • Develop and maintain program management documentation including project management plans, project schedules, risk registers, MSRs, performance metrics, and dashboards to ensure on-time delivery of contract deliverables.
  • Manage operational logistics including meeting facilitation, preparation of agendas, briefing materials, and summaries, and coordination of onboarding, training, and travel in accordance with NOAA and Federal requirements.
