About The Position

The City of Port Colborne is hiring a Programming Coordinator to assist with an age-friendly community plan that will feature senior veterans as valued members of Port Colborne. Working with the Public Programmer, the successful candidate will help plan and deliver programs. The highlight of this project will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Canadian Legion and the Port Colborne Cenotaph. Requirements

  • English, bilingual an asset, but not required
  • Keen interest and enthusiasm for the Port Colborne Senior population
  • History, communication, and audio editing background preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills, public speaking abilities.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Museum experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Create and setup pop-up exhibits
  • Conduct interviews with senior veterans for oral histories
  • Plan and coordinate a regional day trip
  • Support the planning of a fall speaker series
  • Build positive relationships with the community
  • Complete project related tasks as needed
