About The Position

UCP of Long Island is a not-for-profit agency dedicated to advancing the independence, productivity, and full citizenship of individuals with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented leader to oversee various residences throughout Suffolk County, providing support to individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. The Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall administration of assigned residences, ensuring compliance with regulations, effective staff supervision and training, monitoring of budgets and physical plant issues, and maintaining the quality of care for the individuals served.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university.
One to three years of OPWDD management experience and/or training.
Valid NYS Driver License.
One year of licensed driving experience required.

Responsibilities

Ensure adequate coverage of all residences through monthly staffing/scheduling.
Maintain proper correspondence with parents and outside providers such as day programs, DDSO, and caseworkers.
Supervise the financial component of the residences.
Inspect DDPs for accurate completion and documentation.
Audit consumer records to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Coordinate, attend, and ensure accurate completion of the incident review component.
Provide weekly supervision of managers/assistant managers.
Maintain weekly staff meetings with residence managers/assistant managers.
Conduct staff evaluations for residence managers, assistant managers, and the clinical team.
Interview and hire residence managers, assistant managers, and the clinical team.
Serve as the rotating on-call administrator.
Manage subordinate supervisors who oversee employees in the Residential Program, including Managers, Social Workers, Applied Behavior Specialists, Nurses, and Recreation Therapists.
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
Directly supervise various non-supervisory employees, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and resolving complaints and problems.
