About The Position

University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ("UEC") supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We’re responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 2 years of work experience in an educational setting.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Canva.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement.
  • Ability to determine priorities.
  • Ability to complete assigned projects in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work well under tight deadlines.
  • Reliability, attention to detail, initiative and autonomy.
  • Must successfully complete required background check and Live Scan.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience in a K-12 and/or higher education setting.
  • Demonstrated experience working with youth with adverse experiences, including foster care and/or homelessness.

Responsibilities

  • Design, coordinate, and implement college and career readiness programming for high school-aged youth.
  • Provide specialized outreach and engagement for youth who have experienced adversity, including foster care and/or homelessness.
  • Develop engaging workshops and educational activities focused on the following topics: College Readiness, Financial Aid and Scholarships, Career Exploration and Planning, Leadership development, Self-Advocacy and Communication Skills, Independent Living Skills, Social Emotional Learning.
  • Coordinate program logistics, including scheduling, materials, presenters, transportation, and participant support.
  • Evaluate programming and make continuous improvements based on participant feedback and outcomes.
  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to recruit eligible youth into program activities.
  • Build relationships with school districts, child welfare agencies, foster youth organizations, and community partners to increase program awareness.
  • Conduct presentations and informational sessions for students, caregivers, school personnel, and community stakeholders.
  • Maintain regular communication with prospective and current participants.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with: School District Administrators, Teachers and Counselors, Foster and Homeless Youth Liaisons, Local Community Colleges and Universities, Community-based Organizations, Workforce Development Agencies.
  • Coordinate services with partner organizations to ensure participants receive comprehensive support.
  • Represent the program at community meetings, conferences, and collaborative events.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with youth through a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach.
  • Provide individualized guidance regarding college and career planning.
  • Connect participants with campus and community resources that promote academic and personal success.
  • Encourage student engagement, leadership, and persistence toward educational goals.
  • Collect, maintain, and analyze program participation and outcome data.
  • Track performance indicators, including recruitment, attendance, retention, educational outcomes, and participant satisfaction.
  • Prepare reports that demonstrate program effectiveness and impact.
