About The Position

The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Program Coordinator, Strategic Research Team, in our National Center office located in Dallas, TX. This position is a temporary role with an end date no later than June 30, 2027. This position will work in a hybrid setting (in the office at least 2 days a week, as needed) at our Dallas office. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum three (3) years of related experience required
  • Demonstrated evidence of strong customer service and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate information accurately and effectively to a variety of audiences
  • Experience working with databases and electronic reporting tools
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
  • Experience managing application, notification, and awards processes preferred
  • Experience in research administration with a funding organization
  • Experience/proficiency with an electronic research administration system
  • Experience working with volunteers, particularly science volunteers

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative and technical support services within the Association's strategic research awards team, focusing on process and day-to-day management.
  • Conduct data quality reviews for the team and assist investigators and their institutional officers in understanding and interpreting the Association's policies and procedures to ensure compliance with research awards.
  • Manages notification to research applicants and institutions.
  • Manages grant agreements for awarded projects.
  • Manages award activation process (collecting forms and resolving concerns).
  • Supervises awards for compliance with American Heart Association policies and procedures.
  • Manages active awards, change requests, and related inquiries.
  • Reviews annual financial reports for compliance with policies.
  • Monitors periodic scientific report submissions.
  • Provides information and consultation to all customer groups (awardees, institutional personnel, and sponsors).
  • Supports the team through assistance with scheduling meetings, follow-up with attendees, proofreading documents, preparing for applicant webinars, preparing and leading applicant webinars.
  • Conducts data quality reviews to evaluate the accuracy of information and reports.
  • Supports annual institutional audit.
  • Assists management with special projects as needed/assigned.
