About The Position

Are you interested in working to help coordinate the Medical Cannabis program in Kentucky? This Program Coordinator position will work for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, Licensure and Access Branch to coordinate and oversee the statewide medical provider licensure and patient registry access programs. This position will work in Kentucky’s medical cannabis program and will assist those with a serious, qualifying medical condition(s) in gaining access to medical cannabis. The Licensure and Access Branch will be responsible for licensing medical cannabis practitioners and issuing medical cannabis registry identification cards to qualifying patients. These registry cards grant patients the ability to purchase medical cannabis from licensed medical cannabis providers. This Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the licensure and/or registry access program across the state, by ensuring all policies and regulations are upheld.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Three years of professional experience in management or administration.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the medical cannabis licensure and access card process programs.
  • Interprets laws, regulations and policies for the medical cannabis licensure and access program on a statewide basis.
  • Researches and analyzes program data to ensure program implementation leads to legally required credentials.
  • Performs in-depth analysis to determine if program guidelines have been met and recommends or denies the issuance of practitioner licenses or registry identification cards to qualifying patients and caregivers.
  • Reviews business license applications and change requests for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Responds to inquiries from practitioners, patients, the public, and others.
  • Completes detailed reports, and other written correspondence. Reviews reports for accuracy.
  • Provides guidance and training for Licensure and Access staff as directed. Represents the branch by attending meetings to provide technical program information.
