The Program Coordinator duties are organizing, coordinating, and planning operational facets of a program and its related activities which include, but are not limited to the following: establishing long-term operational objectives, researching factors that may impact the success of the program, and working with individuals or groups to research and document program requirements in order to provide appropriate input into the development of strategic plans. Serve as liaison between healthcare partners and Emory School of Medicine Adult Primary Care clerkship. Maintain regular communication with clerkship program on student placement information and preceptor requirements. Work across boundaries and within highly matrixed academic medical center structure. Partner with practice and healthcare leaders to identify physician preceptors. Work with practice leaders and providers to identify and mitigate barriers to precepting students. Aid in efforts of recruitment and retention of preceptors, including at rural sites. Coordinate all aspects of student placement within Primary Care practices starting at the point of hand off from the clerkship program, including but not limited to: Facilitate EPIC training and onboarding and ensure access for new learners. Provide information to students and preceptors related to their rotations (bios, parking, practice contacts, access codes, etc.) Assist in creating student rotation schedules for working with preceptors. Serve as a point of contact for preceptors and practice leadership for site-related questions. Work with area AHECs to identify housing for rural rotations and help students' complete registration for AHEC sites. Contribute to distribution and collection of relevant required paperwork and documentation from preceptors. Facilitate communication around the applicable provider payment documentation at the end of rotations. Ensure the clerkship’s preceptor onboarding, retention, and adjunct faculty accreditation process is consistent with LCME guidelines.
