Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Sport, Physical Education, or related field.
  • 3+ years experience working with high performance and/or student athletes.
  • Experience working with provincial or national sport organizations in athlete and/or high-performance system development.
  • Experience working with Able-Bodied, Para, and Special Olympic athletes.
  • Strong knowledge of the Long-Term Athlete Development (L.T.A.D) Model and its application to student athletes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and have knowledge of ACTIVENet or similar recreation management software.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a proven ability to establish rapport with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to make connections with peers, leaders, and stakeholders, and can work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Effective team player and leader with a positive attitude whose interactions demonstrate accountability, authenticity, and collaboration.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and are comfortable presenting to large groups.
  • Superior administrative and organizational skills demonstrating thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, and results-oriented; demonstrate initiative and contribute to a work environment that values and encourages innovation.
  • A current, clear vulnerable sector check (V.S.C) is required.
  • Current, valid First Aid and C.P.R C / A.E.D is required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the admissions process from Initial Expression of Interest to Enrollment for A.S.A.D London, which will include: Responding to student athlete Expressions of Interest, Leading the student athlete application, review, and selection process in collaboration with the Application Review Panel, Communicating with parents of student athletes on the status of their application and school year plans and schedules, and Coordinating successful student athlete enrollment utilizing Abilities Centre’s online registration platform.
  • Manage and oversee the online registration platform activities for A.S.A.D London.
  • In collaboration with Academy partners, develop and implement annual athletic and academic schedules and calendars.
  • Oversee the day-to-day supervision of A.S.A.D London students and manage student expectations.
  • Ensure student athletes are always supervised and in a safe environment.
  • Coordinate and deliver tours, information sessions, and day-in-the-life student visits geared towards A.S.A.D Skill Streams.
  • Coordinate the facility room bookings for effective A.S.A.D operations (internally and externally).
  • Coordinate daily logistics and travel to ensure safe and effective A.S.A.D operations.
  • Ensure all student athlete documentation are completed and up to date, including waivers and progress reports.
  • Work with Integrated Support Team (I.S.T) practitioners, guest coaches, speakers, and teachers to schedule workshops and seminars.
  • Work with the I.S.T, families, and students to support any injury reports, treatments, program modifications and follow up communications.
  • Manage the day-to-day supervision of A.S.A.D London staff and coaches, including planning, scheduling, and work distribution.
  • With the support and guidance of the Director, Sport and Recreation, provide direction and leadership to the A.S.A.D Staff and Skills Stream Coaches in the delivery of programs and services.
  • Organize weekly communications for A.S.A.D London, ensuring student athletes and parents are informed of upcoming schedules, events, and general program updates.
  • Liaise with the Finance Department to confirm student admissions and their respective fees and payment schedules, and communicate with student athletes and parents as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Department to maintain up-to-date admissions literature, information packages, website and social media content, and A.S.A.D marketing materials.
  • Collaborate with the Research Department to implement the program evaluation processes.
  • Foster a work environment that values and encourages teamwork, inclusion, and accountability.
  • Cultivate a genuine, person-centred environment through exceptional customer service.
  • Establish rapport and maintain effective relationships with staff, volunteers, funders, and community partners.
  • Submit, track, and monitor A.S.A.D London program expenses, adhering to budget, registration, and communication timelines.
  • Attend management and partner meetings, as required.
