The LVN Program Coordinator works with and functions under the supervision of the Campus VN Program Director and VN Assistant Program Director for the Vocational Nursing Program. This role is crucial in assisting with the planning, development, management, updating, and evaluation of all aspects of the program. The coordinator is responsible for preparing data and written materials for state and Board requirements, including reports, proposals, self-studies, surveys, audits, and site visits. They also play a key role in training new faculty, supporting the professional development of existing faculty, and assisting in faculty staffing to ensure course coverage. Ensuring timely completion of theory and clinical evaluations, gathering feedback from students, clinical sites, representatives, and faculty, and assisting with strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives are core functions. The coordinator continuously strives to improve the quality of instruction, ensures clinical assignments and schedules are up-to-date, and verifies that faculty adhere to policies and guidelines for student clinical rotations. They review student learning materials, maintain student records according to policies, and submit required program reports. Keeping current with new technologies and safety regulations, providing advising support to students, and ensuring students meet graduation and licensing exam requirements are also key responsibilities. The role may involve teaching theory or clinicals up to half of the time as needed, along with other assigned duties.
