About The Position

The Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall management and daily operation of a residential program serving individuals with developmental disabilities. This position provides leadership, supervision, and oversight to ensure quality services, a safe and supportive home environment, regulatory compliance, and the achievement of individual goals and outcomes. The Program Coordinator works closely with residents, families, guardians, support coordinators, medical professionals, and staff to promote dignity, independence, health, and well-being for all individuals served.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
One year of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
One year of supervisory or leadership experience.
Valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to pass all required background screenings.
Current or ability to obtain First Aid/CPR and Crisis Management certifications.
Knowledge of residential services and developmental disability programs.
Understanding of APD, Medicaid, and other regulatory requirements.
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, and provide physical assistance as necessary.
Ability to respond appropriately during emergencies and behavioral crises.
Ability to participate in required safety and crisis intervention activities.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum one year of supervisory experience in a community residential or developmental disability setting.
Experience with budgeting and resource management preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operations of the assigned residential home.
Ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained to meet participant needs and licensing requirements.
Supervise, coach, and support Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
Provide staff training, performance feedback, and corrective action as needed.
Coordinate employee schedules and ensure coverage for vacancies, absences, and emergencies.
Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning residential environment.
Review incident reports and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are completed.
Conduct regular staff meetings and promote effective communication among team members.
Promote a family-style home environment that supports dignity, choice, independence, and community inclusion.
Ensure individuals receive services consistent with their Support Plans and personal goals.
Monitor health, safety, and well-being of residents and coordinate care with healthcare providers and support teams.
Coordinate medical, dental, therapeutic, and other support services.
Monitor medication administration and documentation.
Participate in Support Plan, Implementation Plan (IP), and interdisciplinary meetings.
Assist with skill development, behavior support implementation, and achievement of individualized outcomes.
Serve as a liaison between residents, families, guardians, schools, employers, support coordinators, and community partners.
Maintain program records and documentation in accordance with agency, state, and federal requirements.
Conduct audits to ensure compliance with licensing, Medicaid, APD, and other regulatory standards.
Monitor program expenditures and assist with budget management.
Ensure adherence to health, safety, fire, and environmental regulations.
Implement quality assurance practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Prepare reports and documentation as required.
Assist with program budgeting and household purchasing.
Coordinate staff training and required certifications.
Support internal audits and inspections.
Participate in agency initiatives and special projects as assigned.
