About The Position

Under the supervision of the Youth Development Director, The Youth Development Coordinator is responsible for overseeing Youth Development branch program, Y Achievers. The incumbent will also be responsible for developing and implementing program curriculum. This position will oversee all part-time staff, scheduling, training, and provide program instruction.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in programming.
  • Physical ability to instruct class when assigned instructor is unavailable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must possess or attain CPR/AED certification within 60 days.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in related field of study.
  • Staff supervision experience preferred.
  • Experience in developing and implementing youth programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a professional role model for youth enrolled in the Program.
  • Oversee program development, scheduling, registration and evaluation.
  • Ensures professional, thorough and timely communication to registrants prior to and during programming. Communicates necessary program information to branch and association staff.
  • Cultivate relationships with parents and members to develop quality programs that are consistent with the mission and values.
  • Identify collaborative efforts to utilize facilities and services with local schools and organizations.
  • Identify program opportunities and sources of funding for programs.
  • Consistently provide friendly, courteous assistance exceeding customer expectations every day, which includes building and maintaining healthy professional relationships with customers, staff, host agencies and the local community.
  • Support and contribute to a safe, clean environment for staff and customers.
  • Attend all branch and Metropolitan meetings as assigned.
  • Maintain knowledge of association policies and procedures, risk management and safety practices and applicable laws.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
