About The Position

As the Trustworthy Technology Lab Program Coordinator, you will join a vibrant, interdisciplinary academic community focused on shaping the future of technology in ways that are ethical, inclusive, and impactful. You’ll work closely with faculty, students, and external partners while helping build a connected campus-wide ecosystem around trustworthy and responsible technology. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, policy, research, and student engagement—and who is excited to help translate ideas into action. Duke’s Trustworthy Technology Lab is advancing thought leadership on some of today’s most critical technology challenges. In this role, you’ll help design, launch, and scale programming that brings together academia, industry, and government—while mentoring students and supporting high-impact research.

Requirements

  • Work requires analytical, communication, and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.
  • Master’s degree preferred in public policy, technology policy, international relations, computer science, engineering, or a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in project coordination, research, or program management through internships, graduate assistantships, research projects, or professional roles.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute programs, events, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support the Trustworthy Technology Lab across Duke, fostering collaboration among faculty, staff, and students.
  • Partner closely with faculty leadership to design new programming and initiatives.
  • Develop and implement operational protocols and policies to support program excellence.
  • Build and maintain relationships with campus partners, industry leaders, federal agencies, and peer academic institutions.
  • Serve as a liaison with external organizations to develop meaningful partnerships.
  • Support and coordinate major convenings, events, and speaker series at Duke, including logistics, budgets, scheduling, and communications.
  • Manage multidisciplinary student research teams focused on trustworthy and responsible technology.
  • Meet with students to scope and define research projects aligned with program priorities.
  • Monitor project progress, provide guidance, and support timely completion of deliverables.
  • Edit and finalize student and program research outputs for publication.
  • Contribute to high-impact publications and written thought leadership.
  • Write and edit blogs, articles, and content for the program’s website and outreach efforts.
  • Stay current on emerging trends in technology policy and responsible innovation.
  • Manage program budgets and fund codes.
  • Process expense reports, payment requests, and other administrative transactions as needed.
