About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine is recruiting for a Program Coordinator. The Regional Workforce Pathway Coordinator supports healthcare workforce pipeline development by coordinating student-facing career pathway programs in rural and frontier communities. The position is responsible for developing and implementing healthcare career exploration, enrichment, and workforce readiness activities; assessing and supporting school readiness for Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) chapter development; and facilitating student engagement in healthcare career pathways aligned with regional workforce needs. Working collaboratively with Rural Health Advocates, educators, and community partners, the coordinator supports advisor recruitment and training, pathway program implementation, student career navigation, and data tracking to strengthen the future healthcare workforce pipeline. This is a part-time position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and two years of related work experience; OR a master’s degree and one year of related work experience
  • Experience in program coordination or program management; experience in workforce development, community engagement, public health, education, or a related field
  • Nevada driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and implement student-facing healthcare career pathway activities, including career exploration, enrichment modules, simulations, and workforce readiness programming.
  • Support student participation in healthcare training and certification pathways.
  • Align pathway activities with regional healthcare workforce needs and emerging career opportunities.
  • Identify and assess potential HOSA chapter sites within assigned regions.
  • Evaluate school readiness, advisor capacity, and infrastructure needed for future HOSA chapter implementation and sustainability.
  • Coordinate student participation in pathway programming, competitions, enrichment activities, and workforce development opportunities.
