Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Program Coordinator provides operational and project management support for scholarly activity and research initiatives across the Sutter Health Graduate Medical Education (GME) enterprise. This role supports residents, fellows, and faculty across more than 30 GME programs system wide by coordinating incoming scholarly and research projects that support high quality scholarly output, research productivity, and academic consistency, without direct program ownership, research oversight, or principal investigator responsibility. Serves as a centralized operational resource within the GME Office of Academic Support, providing coordination and administrative support for scholarly and research activities. Provides research administration support for scholarly activity, including coordination related to Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes, privacy and data use requirements, and institutional research workflows. Supports residents, fellows, faculty, and research teams by facilitating submission readiness, tracking approvals, maintaining required documentation, and coordinating communication with compliance and research administration offices. This role functions in a supportive and administrative capacity and does not include responsibility for regulatory determinations, IRB decision making, or compliance oversight. Provides ongoing operations support to ensure continuity, consistency, and efficiency of scholarly and research work efforts, particularly for initiatives that span multiple programs, service lines, or regions. Applies established project management tools and processes to support multiple concurrent scholarly projects with varying scopes, timelines, and complexity. Coordinates system wide academic and scholarly initiatives, including but not limited to GME Research Days, resident and fellow research forums, abstract review processes, and other scholarly dissemination activities. Ensures operational readiness, logistical coordination, and alignment with institutional policies and accreditation requirements. Supports leadership through status reporting, issue identification, and coordination support, contributing to the stability and effectiveness of project oriented academic work. This role functions in a supportive, facilitative, and operational capacity and does not include responsibility for research design, data analysis, funding decisions, or direct supervision of research personnel.
