About The Position

Under general supervision, this role works collaboratively with departmental leadership to implement academic programs and manage marketing and communication needs for Texas A&M AgriLife Research, Department of Nutrition.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four (4) years of related experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a science-related field or science communication or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of related experience in academic program coordination and/or marketing and science communications.
  • Website design and management skills.
  • Social media management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the department’s graduate programs.
  • Support the Associate Department Head for Graduate Programs.
  • Assist with program assessments and program reviews.
  • Support the Graduate Program Committee.
  • Assist with course scheduling.
  • Assist with student outreach recruitment for graduate programs, including local or out-of-state outreach events.
  • Perform data collection and tracking for various program platforms and internal applications.
  • Schedule travel and assist with logistics for graduate seminars.
  • Host seminar speakers.
  • Assist with the logistics of the summer undergraduate research program and international field trip learning experiences.
  • Identify funding opportunities and assist with data and preparation for training grants.
  • Assist with career and professional development for undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Coordinate Nutrition’s Career Club.
  • Support graduate student needs.
  • Perform science communications.
  • Assist with web design for department programs and research labs.
  • Provide social media support for the department.
  • Oversee the design, content, and distribution of departmental communications.
  • Market and promote department programs.
  • Design branded items.
  • Assist with departmental events such as seminars, symposiums, and social gatherings.
  • Perform other duties as required.
