About The Position

The Program Coordinator I is primarily responsible for assisting in hiring, program planning and overseeing aquatic programs in accordance with the goals and policies of the YMCA. The supervision of these programs includes maintaining and improving the quality, enrollment, and retention of participants, and being aware of current trends in the field. The Program Coordinator I must understand their role in helping build relationship and a small community atmosphere among our members.

Requirements

Minimum of 16 years of age required.
A high school diploma preferred, or its equivalent in work experience.
A minimum of 2 years of aquatic experience.
Sufficient swimming ability to successfully complete organization-required aquatic skills and swim tests relevant to the position.
Exemplary human motivational and relationship skills and supervisory skills needed.
Ability to interpret program objectives to members, participants and volunteers.
Ability to provide communications within and between communities and organizations.
Capable of establishing and maintaining positive relationships with staff, parents, program participants, and the general public.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding personal information on children, family and YMCA staff.
Completion of all position-specific and required YMCA training within established deadlines.
