About The Position

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for organizing, coordinating, and planning the operational facets of a program and its related activities. This includes establishing long-term operational objectives, researching factors that may impact program success, and working with individuals or groups to research and document program requirements for strategic planning. The role specifically supports both undergraduate programming and communications for the German Studies Department and the interdisciplinary Sustainability Minor. This is a part-time position, working approximately 20 hours per week, providing support to faculty Directors of Undergraduate Studies for the Sustainability Minor, as well as the academic administrator and faculty in the Department of German Studies. The successful candidate will work well under pressure, communicate clearly and effectively, anticipate program needs, and prioritize tasks for two separate programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program.
  • Two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Knowledge of German is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Develops work plans to accomplish program goals and objectives and monitors progress toward their achievement.
  • Conducts research and gathers information to develop various publications.
  • Develops promotional materials which may include content for reports, briefings, newsletters, grants or other written information related to the program.
  • Assists in developing and coordinating program-related conferences, conventions, or meetings.
  • Monitors expenditures and may participate in the budget planning process and prepare financial reports.
  • May assist in identifying funding resources and developing fund-raising strategies and initiatives.
  • Prepares operational and statistical reports.
  • Conducts training, represents the program at meetings and conferences, and networks with affiliated groups.
  • May supervise assigned project staff, interns and/or volunteers.
  • Help with enrollment, room requests, book adoptions for both German Studies and Sustainability as needed.
  • Coordinate the Sustainability Minor (update website, advise students, administer degree tracker and degree applications, attend and assist with SUST capstone meetings).
  • Help with outreach for both German Studies and Sustainability (oversee monthly and annual newsletters, produce content for social media, design and distribute flyers, promote by visiting classes and by tabling at Academic Showcases, Earth Day, Oxford Majors fairs, etc., and organize social events).
