About The Position

The Program Coordinator for Educating Character Initiative (ECI) at FranU Baton Rouge, La is responsible for coordinating all Program activities across campus, including curricular, co-curricular, extra-curricular, pre-nursing, nursing, and post-graduation initiatives. This role involves managing research related to the effectiveness of Virtue Ethics understanding, working with faculty members teaching relevant pre-nursing courses, and overseeing the development and refinement of outcomes for Virtue Ethics in these courses. This is a grant-funded position with funding secured through 2028, with continuation dependent on future funding and institutional approval.

Requirements

At least two (2) years of experience in Catholic higher education, required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a Health-Related field, required.
Familiarity with the Virtue Ethics tradition.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.

Nice To Haves

Master’s Degree, preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the activities of other members of the Educating Character Initiative (ECI) Team through regular meetings and communication.
Work with REACH Team to align activities between Reflecting on Ethics and Catholic Healthcare (REACH) and ECI.
Manage research efforts among faculty and staff related to Virtue Ethics and Virtue Pedagogy.
Oversee development and refinement of outcomes for ECI Program as well as measurement of those outcomes.
Work with faculty to develop and measure course outcomes linked to Program outcomes.
Coordinate efforts to provide faculty development on Virtue Ethics.
Develop co-curricular activities in coordination with Student Affairs, Service Learning, and Campus Ministry that provides students opportunities to develop character and perseverance.
Identify potential grant funders who can continue this project and interface with Institutional Advancement to approach for funding.
Oversee the management of the Educating Character Initiative budget.
Engage in an analytical, empirical, data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
Perform any other duties as assigned or requested.
