About The Position

Oversee the operations of Covey's Respite Home and Community-Based Horizons program. Build engaging relationships with residents and staff by guiding, helping, and supporting them. Oversee the schedules of each Covey respite home, ensuring adequate and appropriate staffing for both programs. Assist the team in understanding the importance and methods of charting and documentation. Collaborate with the team to ensure direct care activities (assistance with feeding, toileting, moving, medication administration, etc.) are completed according to each participant’s needs and in a manner that honors their dignity. Support the team by developing and sharing performance reviews, helping them set achievable goals, discovering and supporting their career aspirations, ensuring they have the training they need and want, and being available to work alongside them. You will be responsible for the operations of the homes, including safety, compliance, supply management, and grocery shopping.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in successful leadership of a similar program or organization.
  • 1+ years of experience with individuals with disabilities.
  • Understanding of how to help participants overcome their barriers and challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure participants, families, and employees understand written or oral messages.
  • Ability to keep things organized.
  • Ability to manage problems and crises, even if they occur in the middle of the night or during an outing.
  • Ability to analyze data and use this information to improve program performance and achieve program goals.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Personal vehicle and auto insurance.
  • Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
  • Must be able to respond to onsite emergencies within 30 minutes when on-call.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings (Drug, TB, Physical and Background checks).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the schedules of each Covey respite home ensuring that both programs are adequately and appropriately staffed.
  • Help the team understand the 'why's', 'how's', and 'must's' about charting/documentation.
  • Work and collaborate with the team to ensure that direct care activities are being completed according to each participant’s needs and in a manner honoring all participants’ dignity.
  • Develop and share performance reviews.
  • Help staff develop achievable goals.
  • Discover staff career goals and dreams and help, encourage, and support them in figuring out how to achieve them.
  • Ensure that everyone has the training they need and want.
  • Be available to staff and work with them side by side.
  • Oversee the operations of the homes, including safety, compliance, supply management, and grocery shopping.
