Program Controls Senior Manager
About The Position
AECOM is seeking a Program Controls Senior Manager to lead program controls for large-scale, strategically significant, and highly complex programs. The role provides senior-level guidance to ensure program controls align with executive leadership’s strategic objectives and coordinates multiple projects to support overall program goals. It analyzes project interdependencies, oversees project controls teams, and ensures effective management of individual project elements. The position also supports clear, actionable communication among project teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership; implements controls to protect program integrity and optimize resource allocation; and develops standardized processes to improve efficiency throughout project phases. It conducts program performance assessments and risk analyses, recommends course corrections, and fosters accountability, excellence, continuous improvement, and professional development within the program controls team. The role requires presenting to multiple stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, or Business, plus 10 years of related experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- At least 2 years of leadership experience.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, or Business.
- Strong experience with a Project Management Information System (PMIS).
- Experience with large transportation, water, and aviation infrastructure.
- Experience integrating controls across scope, cost, schedule, risk, and reporting.
- Experience tailoring Power BI reports for program-specific needs.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct Program Controls for large-scale, strategically significant, and highly complex programs.
- Provide senior-level guidance for program controls activities and ensure adherence to executive leadership’s strategic objectives.
- Coordinate multiple projects within the program and maintain alignment with overarching program goals.
- Analyze critical interdependencies between projects.
- Provide counsel and oversight to project controls teams to support management of individual project elements.
- Communicate program information and actionable updates among project teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
- Implement and maintain controls to safeguard program integrity and support optimal resource allocation.
- Develop and enforce standardized processes to improve program efficiency and effectiveness across project phases.
- Conduct program performance assessments and risk analyses and recommend course corrections when needed.
- Foster accountability, excellence, continuous improvement, and professional development within the program controls team.
- Present to multiple stakeholders.
