Program Chief Engineer (Technical Lead)

SEAKR Engineering•Centennial, CO
•$130,000 - $200,000

About The Position

SEAKR Engineering is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead technical execution for space electronics programs. The role involves developing and refining architectures and requirements, interfacing with customers, and leading a design team from initial specification through hardware delivery across box, module, board, FPGA, and software designs. The Program Chief Engineer champions simulation, analysis, integration, and test; reviews engineers’ designs; and approves engineering documentation and drawings. The position leads design teams through hardware checkout and validation in a laboratory, system-level box integration, and environmental testing. Digital board design work includes design documentation, schematic capture and review, signal- and power-integrity analysis, routing instructions, board-layout coordination and review, test-plan documentation, and hardware verification and debug. The role also provides hands-on laboratory debugging using bench supplies, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers. The engineer oversees multiple module designs within box systems and coordinates technical work across Hardware, Logic, Mechanical, Software, Manufacturing, Test, and Systems Engineering. Responsibilities span the full program life cycle, from ATP through delivery, including environmental tests such as thermal cycling, thermal vacuum, vibration, and EMI/EMC. The role leads technical matters at major program reviews, including SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, and PSR, and contributes to detailed reviews of FPGA, software, and mechanical designs. Limited local travel may be required.

  • Experience leading module debug and integration of a module into a system.
  • Familiarity with environmental test methods and flow.
  • Understanding of and experience performing worst-case analysis.
  • Ability to lead system integration and test of multiple digital boards, FPGA designs, and system software effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to provide leadership and support to less experienced engineers.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience with digital and/or RF electronics design, schematic capture, FPGA design, embedded-system design, single-board computers, or embedded-software design.

Responsibilities
