Requirements

  • University degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with North American and European suppliers; global sourcing experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written); additional languages considered an asset
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards

Responsibilities

  • Support new program launches by developing cost estimates and supplier quotes for RFQs
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers to meet program and operational requirements
  • Manage supplier performance related to cost, quality, and delivery; lead issue resolution as needed
  • Coordinate procurement and logistics planning for program components and capital equipment
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement projects at the enterprise level
  • Collaborate with Engineering on tooling procurement and support tooling audit activities
  • Partner with Quality to ensure supplier compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards
  • Prepare and support required corporate reporting and documentation
  • Support cross-functional projects within the Materials team
  • Maintain awareness of customer-specific requirements related to purchasing activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
