About The Position

nVent Management Company is seeking a dedicated Buyer to join their team at the Kewanee, IL facility. This is an onsite position where the Buyer will be responsible for the sourcing, negotiation, and purchase of goods, services, and raw materials. The role focuses on maintaining and improving the quality of assigned goods, with an emphasis on continuous improvement, eliminating nonconformities, reducing total delivered costs, and enhancing customer satisfaction. nVent is a global provider of inventive electrical connection and protection solutions, aiming to ensure a more secure world. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools and experience with ERP and MRP systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet the physical and environmental demands of the job, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in both office and production environments.

Nice To Haves

  • bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial buying preferred

Responsibilities

  • Procure assigned items in accordance with material buying plans at the optimum cost/quality relationship.
  • Maintain and improve the quality of the assigned goods with a focus on continuous improvement, eliminating nonconformities, reducing total delivered costs, and improving customer happiness.
  • Work with vendors to acquire quotes for non-inventory materials.
  • Generate purchase orders for both direct and indirect materials.
  • Participate in the daily MRO activities and operations associated with the upkeep of the plant/facility.
  • Work with Manufacturing to build a consistent methodology for the procurement process of components based on demand and min & max inventory.
  • Follow up on the status of purchase orders and review price increases to renegotiate with strategic supply.
  • Schedule outside vendor services and troubleshoot any discrepancies between purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
  • Work with all departments to maintain parts inventory for production.
  • Generate reports to support business decisions of the company.
