About The Position

The Krupp Foundation is seeking a Program Associate to join the organization during an exciting period of growth and evolution. Based in the Boston office and reporting directly to the Vice President, the Program Associate will be a key member of a small team, supporting all aspects of the Foundation’s grantmaking strategy and day-to-day operations and administrative functions. The Program Associate will oversee the Foundation’s grants process and serve as the primary point of contact for organizations throughout the application and reporting cycles. Other key responsibilities will include managing the Foundation’s online grant system, conducting research and due diligence, drafting grant summaries, supporting external relationships, and coordinating meetings and events. This newly created position is an excellent fit for someone who cares deeply about the Foundation’s focus areas and will evolve over time with opportunities for advancement. The Program Associate will require strong organizational, analytical, communication, and relational management skills; the ability to manage multiple priorities; and effectiveness working both independently and collaboratively in a small team.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience working in a non-profit or philanthropic organization
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • A critical thinker who can distill complex information and present thoughtful analyses to support opinion and decision making
  • Technological proficiency to manage grants and payments software, create presentations, and support effective communications
  • Genuine interest in the Krupp Foundation’s focus areas of funding
  • Adaptable to shifting priorities in a rapidly changing landscape and in a growing organization
  • Evidence of success working independently and with teams
  • Humility, flexibility, creativity, curiosity, and a high level of integrity
  • Discretion and sensitivity for working within a family
  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable educational background
  • Demonstrated ability to use and learn new technology (e.g., computers/hardware, mobile, software, cloud-based programs)
  • Proficiency with computers, keyboards, monitors and telephone headsets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of Products (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, Power Point)

Responsibilities

  • Process, review, and synthesize grant application and reporting materials into concise and insightful summaries
  • Manage online grant management system
  • Ensure Foundation knowledge, communications, and data are accurately captured and accessible for all users
  • Serve as primary liaison for grantees with a focus on relationship development
  • Conduct due diligence and landscape scans on current and prospective grantees
  • Research new areas of interest and potential funding opportunities
  • Stay well-informed of developments, trends, and best practices in the field and communicate insights and learnings with the Vice President and Board
  • Support new initiatives and projects as determined by Vice President and Board
  • Attend site visits and represent the Foundation at relevant meetings and conferences
  • Assist with scheduling meetings and team planning and logistics
  • Prepare, organize, and distribute materials for Board meetings
  • Produce insightful meeting minutes
  • Prepare grant agreements and oversee payments of grants and operating expenses
