About The Position

Seabird Island is proud to offer the Summer Work Experience Program, whose goal is to assist eligible students in preparing for future entry into the job market. The program focuses on providing work experience and developmental learning for in-school youth.

Requirements

Ability and willingness to provide services in a prompt, respectful and unbiased manner, in accordance with existing Seabird Island Band policies and procedures.
Ability and willingness to learn computer skills including Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.)
Active listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to agree as well as adhere to Seabird Island Band Human Resources (HR), Finance, and Information Technology (IT) Policies and Procedures, etc.
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
Participants must be a minimum of 15 years old and have a SIN Number.
Must have a Bank account and a BC Services Card.

Able to complete and follow tasks.
Willingness & Eagerness to follow up on tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Appropriately exercises professional boundaries and communicates any conflicts of interest should they occur during the partnership.

Willing to learn, grow and ask appropriate questions.
Always maintains confidentiality and integrity; does not discuss or share information outside of the relationship.
Other duties or responsibilities as assigned by your Supervisor, Manager, Director, Executive Director, or Chief & Council.
