About The Position

Douglas Education Service District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Program Assistant for our Douglas Early Intervention / Early Childhood Special Education department. This is a classified position working 190 days per year, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, to begin in August 2026. Summers off! The role functions as clerical support for an assigned department or program strand.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Experience in office work is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide coverage for front reception area by greeting guests and/or answering phones as needed and requested.
Coordinates meetings, programs, or events specific to the department by communicating, arranging, and organizing all components as directed.
Composes and prepares pertinent correspondence, reports, minutes, and memoranda in appropriate format, applying knowledge of established departmental procedures and functions.
Applies knowledge of agency rules, policies, and procedures when working with internal and external customers.
Indexes and files correspondence, reports, and other materials for department or program strand.
Receives and distributes mail, supplies, and other materials for department or program strand.
Operates standard office equipment such as, copy machine, computer, printer, scanner, etc.
Uses appropriate software efficiently and effectively to accomplish work within the department or program strand.
Completes department specific projects and tasks as directed by supervisor.
Completes data entry per specific job duties.
Adhere to workplace expectations.
Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel to and from school locations in the Douglas ESD service area and may be required to travel on overnight assignments.
Other duties as assigned.
