Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, founded in 1894, is a leading human services provider on Manhattan's East Side, offering a wide range of services to approximately 16,000 individuals annually, from ages 3 to 103. The organization serves diverse populations including older adults, unhoused individuals, children and families, and persons with disabilities. The Women's Mental Health Shelter, located in the Park Avenue Armory, is a 24-hour program dedicated to supporting 80 homeless women aged 45 and over who have histories of mental illness. The shelter provides a comprehensive continuum of care, including social work, medical, nursing, psychiatric services, peer support, housing placement, benefits assistance, arts and recreation, and nutrition programs. The multidisciplinary team, consisting of social workers, mental health clinicians, nurses, psychiatric providers, peer advocates, and program assistants, aims to help clients transition from homelessness to permanent housing.
