The focus of this position is to assist in the implementation of intensive behavior management strategies for students with autism and behavioral difficulties in the classroom. This role involves working one-on-one or in small groups with students, evaluating their needs, providing interventions, and implementing evidence-based strategies to promote positive behavioral changes. The Program Assistant will also be responsible for assessing and defusing crisis situations, reinforcing appropriate behaviors, supporting students' social-emotional needs, and training students in skills that enable them to access education in their least restrictive environment. Daily data collection and collaboration with staff to meet student-specific goals are also key components of this role.
