About The Position

The Department of Environmental Health at the Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH) focuses on interdisciplinary research addressing the health effects of environmental exposures. Their work includes studying the health impacts of chemical mixtures, air pollution, climate change, and non-chemical hazards like noise and social stressors, with a particular interest in vulnerable populations. This position will provide administrative and logistical support to two grant-funded training centers within the Department: the New England Public Health Training Center (NEPHTC) and the Local Public Health Intensive Training Program of Massachusetts (LPHIT). The Program Assistant will work closely with the Program Managers, assisting with various projects including copy editing, communication materials, formatting reports and grant applications, purchasing, presentations, and other administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • Master's degree required, or bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of experience
  • Cover letter and resume submission required

Responsibilities

  • Submit contract request forms and purchase orders
  • Schedule and draft agendas and follow-up meeting minutes
  • Share calendar invites and corresponding meeting details (i.e., Zoom links)
  • Reserve equipment and conference rooms as needed
  • Back-up webinar host for trainings
  • Manage email and marketing for the training centers
  • Update social media and websites for both training centers
  • Create handouts for events, especially in-person conferences
  • Perform video editing for learning platforms and online conferences
  • Attend local and regional conferences and represent the training centers
  • Perform other tasks as they arise and are needed
