About The Position

Provides administrative, reception and clerical duties supporting the Director, Health Service Managers, and members of allied professional staff. Utilizes computer software to perform functions where required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years in an environment requiring public interaction with prior experience in customer service.
  • Must have computer experience and demonstrated keyboard skills of 40 wpm and a working knowledge of software programs (ie: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Grade 12, in combination with a diploma or certificate from a recognized Administrative Assistant/Secretarial; or, Medical Office Assistant program required – only for PRIME Program.
  • Accurate, effective communication in English is required.
  • Must have excellent oral, written, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate good judgement, initiative, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent planning, project and time management skills are required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, flexibility and independence in completing work assignments and complex tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited guidance and supervision showing good attention to detail.
  • Physical health to meet the requirements of the position.
  • A current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check.

  • Experience working with the elderly population an asset.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
