About The Position

This position involves a variety of administrative and support duties within a legal setting. The Program Assistant II will be responsible for answering phones, assisting the public, managing the law library, and supporting legal assistants with discovery, invoices, and media distribution. Key tasks include processing electronic citations and referrals, generating reports, scanning legal documents, updating records, and handling daily court runs and mail distribution.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • 1-2 years of experience in the legal field is preferable.
  • Combination of education, training, and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Answers and screens telephone calls, directs callers and assists the general public.
  • Updates law library.
  • Assists legal assistants with redacting and sending out discovery and invoices to defense attorneys.
  • Sends out DVDs, flash drives, and CDs.
  • Pulls eCitations into Protect.
  • Pulls eReferrals into Protect.
  • Requests reports.
  • Scans Search Warrants, Riversides, and Media Request forms into the system.
  • Updates arrest and conviction cards.
  • Performs daily court runs (delivering and picking up court documents from other departments).
  • Handles daily mail (delivering and sorting mail).
