About The Position

Position involves the performance of a variety of administrative, clerical, and office management duties. Position requires knowledge of College and University policies and procedures to communicate information involving academic programs, functions, and services. Duties performed include using office technology to compile presentations, records, and reports; organizing, maintaining, and distributing information from the office to other units on campus; and greeting/referring/assisting visitors/faculty/staff/others. Completion of work often involves serving as office representative in obtaining, clarifying, and providing information about programs in the College. Position serves as the primary staff assistant to the Chair(s), Program Directors, Dean(s) and faculty in the department(s) and the College.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • minimum of 2 years of experience in an office or related environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide front office support to the Units represented
  • Maintain the Unit's calendar/schedule, anticipate annual cycle of required meetings and reports across academic year and ensure that the Chair completes those items in a timely manner
  • Maintain the faculty, staff, and department digital records (annual reports, assessment reports, and external reviews for the department)
  • Maintain strict confidentiality related to personnel and student needs
  • Assist faculty, as needed, in summarizing department level reports
  • On board new faculty and staff within the Unit, including training and meetings with key offices
  • Event planning and communication for Unit office(s) (e.g., faculty meetings, graduation events, etc.)
  • Support University Communications liaison to the College in maintenance of the Unit webpages
  • Reflects a unified voice of the College in the operations and communications with other offices on campus and throughout higher education.
  • Train and supervise student workers within the Unit's office
