About The Position

The CSU College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) is housed in the Academic Advancement Center in the Division of Student Affairs. CAMP boasts a student-centered philosophy of advocacy and validating seasonal agricultural workers and migrant farmworking background students through programs, activities, and services. CAMP has three full-time, exempt professionals, and 4 - 6 student staff employees, and the Program Assistant reports directly to the CAMP Outreach and Enrollment Coordinator. We embrace equity and inclusive practices with a student-centered lens. POSITION EXPECTATIONS: The primary responsibility of the Program Assistant is to plan and facilitate administrative tasks in support of student-centered programs and events towards recruitment, retention, and student wellness in a in-person services setting. These are accomplished by the following expectations:

Requirements

  • One year of college experience from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Previous leadership or other experience in working with first-generation and/or underrepresented students
  • A high degree of organization, administrative, and communication skills as a team member
  • Ability to problem-solve, think creatively, and maximize available resources
  • Flexible to changing environments and high level of self-direction, initiative, and reliability
  • Must be available 3 to 4 days a week to perform assigned duties
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree and enrolled in a graduate degree at Colorado State University
  • Previous experiences working with grant funded programs and event planning
  • Previous experience with temporary agriculture and seasonal farmworkers (and their communities)
  • Fluent in Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Assist CAMP Coordinator with recruitment efforts including but not limited to phone banking, tabling, and presenting.
  • Work with CAMP Coordinator to develop ongoing workshops and assist with execution of the efforts
  • Communicate with other AAC programs staff and work together on student centered events
  • Assist with academic year event planning and execution of campus and community partners collaborations
  • Responsible for event promotion logistics related to flyer creations and advertisement to CAMP scholars
  • Develop a digital trail of documents for assigned events and other job responsibilities efforts executed
  • Serve as coordinator for the office social media outlets, including creation or delegation of content creation and posting
  • Serve as Lead staff for CAMP Student selection and travel logistics towards the Annual Leadership National HEP/CAMP conference
  • Assist with assessing and evaluating programs and efforts and report thematical data analysis of summary findings
  • Understand the program's eligibility and compliance requirements in supporting all areas of recruitment.
  • Collaborate with full time staff on planning and execution of office and department student staff training and CAMP Scholars Fall and Spring Orientations
  • Serve in the planning committee for the Northern Colorado Migrant Youth Leadership Institute
  • Serve in the planning committee for the Academic Advancement Center End of Year Celebration
  • Attend lead staff meetings and assigned events programs
  • Track expenses to permit program's operation within the AY 26-27 budget
  • Collaborate with other CAMP staff to identify student's areas of need
  • Other duties as assigned upon capacity and availability
  • Staff the office front desk
  • Assist with New Student Orientation workshop presentations and involvement in resources fair tableting
  • Assist with New Student Orientation Spanish sessions
  • Conduct special research projects relevant to academic success and trending best practices for student success
  • Assist with interviews, selection, and onboarding procedures of undergraduate student staff
  • Serve as CAMP representative committee member for the Annual C4E Welcome Back Event
