About The Position

We are now hiring for a temporary program aide for 6 months with the possibility of a permanent role to join our Early Learning Team! This role involves participating in a team approach to planning and implementing program activities, collaborating with various staff and partners for classroom and family betterment, and assisting in child care and classroom-related activities. The position also includes implementing the program’s Planned Language Approach to support dual language learners and providing food preparation and service. The aide will support the Lead Teacher and Teacher in guiding children, assessing needs, and maintaining appropriate ratios and discipline. This role requires attending mandated trainings, setting professional development goals, and ensuring accurate completion of documents like CACFP and program reports. The Program Aide will establish positive relationships, provide a supportive and safe environment, and ensure active supervision of children at all times. Compliance with agency technology usage, code of conduct, and fiscal integrity is also expected. The role may also assist in program recruitment and other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to effectively work with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Sensitivity to and respect for the needs of children and families, including those with disabilities.
  • Ability to carry out some physical activities such as lifting and carrying.
  • Working knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in a team approach to planning and implementing program activities.
  • Collaborates with Family Support Workers, Teacher, Teacher Assistant, site partners, and site supervisor for the betterment of the classroom and families.
  • Participates in child care and classroom-related activities during parent meetings/workshops.
  • Assists in ongoing CLASS implementation.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the program’s Planned Language Approach, which is specifically designed to support dual language learners.
  • Provides food preparation, food service area maintenance, food delivery and food storage using approved sanitation methods.
  • Helps carry out daily program by assisting Lead Teacher and Teacher as needed.
  • Helps Lead Teacher and Teacher guide children in achieving individual goals and assess children’s individual strengths and needs.
  • Assists in activities of the children and ensures appropriate child guidance and discipline and proper ratios are maintained at all times.
  • Attends all mandated trainings.
  • Set and achieve professional development goals.
  • Share resources with other staff members as appropriate.
  • Ensure in accurate completion CACFP documents in conjunction with the other teaching staff.
  • Establishes positive relationships with children, parents, volunteers, and other staff members.
  • Provides a supportive, caring and safe environment for children.
  • Use the playground as an extension of the classroom; assures that the playground is safe.
  • Provides active supervision to ensure the safety of children while in the classroom, during transitions, at time of transportation, and while on the playground.
  • Ensures that no child shall be left alone or unsupervised.
  • Ensures the usage of agency technology equipment and time are utilized for agency business.
  • Ensures compliance with the agency’s code of conduct.
  • Ensures agency’s fiscal integrity by adhering to purchase approval requirements and procedures.
  • Assists in the development of the agency’s annual program self-assessment.
  • Ensures all content area data is accurately reflected in the agency’s Program Information Report within set time frames.
  • Participate in program recruitment efforts to maintain full enrollment.
  • Meets all timelines and reporting requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
