Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience leading, directing or advising children 6-18 years old
  • Knowledge of natural history, biology, ecology, and related fields
  • Desire and ability to work with children outdoors in varied conditions
  • Ability to communicate and work with groups participating (age and skill levels) and provide necessary instruction to campers
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree
  • Previous Sea Camp experience
  • First Aid CPR
  • Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Instructs, monitors and directs campers ages 6-18 in the marine sciences fields.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for teaching students in a variety of settings including canters, whole group instruction and field activities.
  • May be required to drive a University vehicle for various purposes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Guides the Summer Camp Outreach Programs to people of all ages.
  • Sea Camp -- a week-long residential adventure exploring the wonders of the marine and estuarine environments for campers ages 10-18
  • Sea Campus Kids -- a marine oriented day program for campers ages 6-11
  • Ensures compliance with all safety rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for teaching students in a variety of settings including canters, whole group instruction and field activities.
  • May be required to drive a University vehicle for various purposes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
