About The Position

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Prognostics & Health Management (PHM) Engineer to support the LiftSystem program in Indianapolis, Indiana. The position is part of a PHM team that defines and integrates new products, develops diagnostic and predictive algorithms, analyzes and models in-service product-health attributes, and manages PHM algorithm performance. The engineer provides service-data analysis for event investigations and root-cause analysis of reliability and safety issues. The role focuses on defining and maintaining safe, reliable, and cost-effective product attributes through life-cycle modeling of product reliability, deterioration mechanisms, and costs. It provides technical support for in-service and delivered products and influences product maturity throughout the life cycle to meet customer and business needs and ensure Design Intent is met. The engineer works with cross-functional teams and advises management. The role develops algorithms and techniques to detect and predict imminent system-level failures, including performance and control, pneumatic, vibration, oil and fuel systems, and component lifing. It works with LiftSystem Informatics to ensure data availability and quality for lifing calculations, integrates data between ADVISe and Maximo, and addresses data issues with a partner OEM. The engineer conducts in-service system analysis to support engineering investigations, including Red Top Investigations and Safety Alert Reports; provides customer interface on in-service and system PHM issues; presents technical findings and publishes analysis reports; supports component, module, and flight testing to mature PHM algorithms; and collaborates across LiftSystem teams and the EHM engineering capability to share best practices and develop knowledge-management practices. This is a full-time position. Relocation assistance is provided if applicable. Applicants must be U.S. citizens. The posted annual pay range is $98,566–$160,169.
