Join Brown Sims' Houston office as a Profiling/Calendaring Clerk and become an essential member of our litigation support team. This role provides critical administrative and case management support by maintaining accurate calendaring systems, organizing case files, and ensuring timely processing and distribution of legal documents in a fast-paced law firm environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bilingual – Ability to speak English and Spanish fluently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple to complex instructions, correspondence, and memoranda.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other office technology.
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
  • Ability to organize documents in alphabetical and chronological order.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and maintaining accuracy.
  • Commitment to client service and teamwork.

  • Previous law firm, legal support, records management, calendaring, or administrative experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Calendar court deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, docket control orders (DCOs), and other litigation-related events.
  • Download, profile, calendar, and distribute incoming court e-filings.
  • Download, profile, calendar, and distribute Texas research notifications.
  • Download, profile, organize, and maintain transfer files.
  • Organize and maintain electronic case files in NetDocuments for active matters.
  • Monitor and manage the firm's E-Service inbox.
  • Monitor and manage the Calendaring inbox.
  • Prepare and send client correspondence regarding discovery requests.
  • Process check requests and vendor invoices.
  • Organize document productions and create indexes for case files.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure timely routing of legal documents and notifications.
  • Support attorneys, legal assistants, and other team members with administrative and clerical tasks as needed.
