About The Position

American University's Kogod School of Business, Department of Management, is seeking a term, non-tenure track Professorial Lecturer for the Academic Year 2026-27. This position is renewable and involves teaching six courses per year. The salary range is $100,000 - $150,000 annually. The role requires instructional leadership at undergraduate and graduate levels in areas such as human resource management, organizational behavior, business ethics, and global strategy. Faculty are expected to be familiar with the scholarly basis of their teaching areas and effective pedagogical methods, and to participate in departmental, school, university, and professional activities.

Requirements

Ph.D., MBA, JD, or related graduate or terminal degree from a nationally-accredited institution in Business Management or other relevant fields.
University-level teaching experience in Management or related areas with a strong commitment to high-quality pedagogy, including currency in teaching content, methods, pedagogical use of artificial intelligence, and instructional technology.
Curricular and program development experience.
Evidence of teaching preparation, rigor, methods, and student engagement.

Responsibilities

Teach and provide instructional leadership at the undergraduate and graduate levels in topics related to human resource management / organizational behavior, human resource management, business ethics, and global strategy.
Be familiar with the scholarly basis of their teaching areas, as well as pedagogical methods for effective teaching.
Participate in department, school, university and professional activities.
