About The Position

The Department of Biomedical and Translational Sciences (BTS) at Eastern Virginia Medical School at Old Dominion University (ODU) is seeking exceptional applicants for a tenure-track/tenured faculty position at the Assistant/Associate/ or Full Professor level. The department offers a collaborative academic environment with access to major hospital partners, extensive core facilities, and broad research infrastructure. The successful candidate will join a department of over 50 faculty members and is expected to have expertise in inflammation, epigenetics and genomics, metabolism, or systems biology to complement existing strengths in cancer, cardiovascular and pulmonary disease, neuroscience, and women’s and infant’s health. The department is particularly interested in candidates who can thrive in a transdisciplinary research environment and collaborate with faculty in specialized centers and institutes. Faculty have access to advanced research facilities and collaborative opportunities across the university, supporting integrated research. Successful applicants will conduct transformative basic and translational research, have a strong publication record, proven or high potential for extramural funding, and a commitment to collaboration.

Requirements

  • PhD, MD or MD/PhD
  • Relevant postdoctoral research experience
  • Strong record of publication
  • For Associate or Full Professor: established, extramurally funded research program, strong publication record, and national recognition in their field.
